FUND SUPPORTING LASALLIANS IN PUERTO RICO
Consistent with its Lasallian Catholic educational Mission and our distinctive commitment to social justice, civic engagement, and service to our fellow human beings, Manhattan College has established the Fund Supporting Lasallians in Puerto Rico.
This fund supports the efforts of the College's students and faculty to assist the people of Puerto Rico, in particular our Lasallian colleagues and their educational mission, following Hurricane Maria and its devastating impact.
Specifically, for example, Manhattan College students and faculty have designed and are implementing a Water and Solar Power Project in Puerto Rico. This project provides clean drinking water and reliable power for the students and faculty at Colegio De La Salle, a Lasallian grade school in the city of Añasco, Puerto Rico, a community that continues to suffer from ongoing issues of intermittent water and power service.
